Join Our Advisory Council
Purpose: The Sun Gate Foundation Advisory Council serves as a strategic thought partner to the Sun Gate Foundation’s leadership, offering expert guidance and collaborative support in strengthening the organization’s infrastructure, programming, and long-term sustainability. The Council is a non-governing body composed of trusted advisors who bring diverse expertise to advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting survivors and fostering systems-level change.
This Advisory Council is especially focused on organizational and operational development, ensuring that Sun Gate grows with integrity, equity, and effectiveness.
Terms: 1- or 2-year term, renewable by mutual agreement.
Meetings: The Advisory Council will meet quarterly, with the option for special meetings as needed.
Committees will meet monthly or bi-monthly, depending on goals and activities.

Survivor Engagement & Empowerment Committee: Its purpose is to ensure that all of Sun Gate’s programs, policies, and initiatives are grounded in lived experience and uphold survivor leadership as a cornerstone of the organization's ethos. Members represent diverse areas of expertise, including but not limited to: trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, survivor-centeredness, meaningful and ethical survivor engagement, survivor safety, compensation frameworks, and survivor advocacy.
Strategic Partnerships & Sustainability Committee: Its purpose is to expand Sun Gate’s reach, deepen its impact, and ensure long-term sustainability through strategic alliances, resource development, and mission-aligned collaboration. Members represent diverse areas of expertise, including but not limited to: fundraising, donor engagement, nonprofit operations and governance, strategic planning, organizational development, finance, legal, compliance, technology & systems integration, philanthropy, communications, brand visibility, event planning, education, and strategic partnerships.
